Eco Friendly Greeting Cards Are Fantastic Ways To Save

By Donald Sullivan

Greeting cards are no longer that thing that is just an accessory to a gift given to someone. In the past, people have felt obligated to keep these for as long as a relationship was still alive but oftentimes, this is not practical. Most people find eco friendly greeting cards to be the perfect solution to stop hoarding paper products.

The great thing about these types of cards is that content is more diverse. Some formats are similar to hard copy versions but other cards are compact in terms of the images and text used. Because they are designed to reflect modern society, the message that is simple or short may be the best communicator. In some cases, less is more.

Cards in general also reflect a change in communication and relationships. Often they can change how people feel about events in their lives. A long time ago, a get well card usually had a picture of flowers with a message that was positive but sometimes generic. There are some recipients that may appreciate light humor or even a funny image to boost their spirit while healing.

The world of work is also changing, as more people are telecommuting instead of driving into the office. In the case of projects being completed, sending an electronic card is one of the most methods of showing gratitude for a job well done. Many online sellers give the option of sending a card with a short message when sending gifts to another party.

Personal relationships are probably the most popular genre of card giving and reflect the most change when it comes to content. Things like cartoon images, prose that does not rhyme, and jokes not intended for all audiences are becoming the norm. There was once a time when cards between romantic partners focused on those things that were pretty or sensual but even that has changed.

The content found in a many greeting cards deals with real life matters. There are also new ways to express simple sentiments as some people do not celebrate love or work in the same fashions as their parents. Experimentation with language, like Haiku or the use of puns, is growing with some consumers who want to send someone a unique message.

Some people prefer sending an ecard instead of a phone text or email because it allows for personalization. Most email hosting services offer this as a free or premium feature. There are many options from which to choose, such as animation, themes, or audio. Since a lot of these are safe for the recipient to open, they often prefer this over receiving a generic card with a lot of flowers or nature images.

More people are finding that cards made with recyclable paper are becoming just as stylish as their hard copy counterparts. At one time, these were greyish or light brown in color with minimal artwork. Some people preferred the blank version so they can add a special message but card companies are finding ways to mesh the best of both worlds.
