Whenever a person goes to see a new action or adventure movie they will more than likely hear a booming tune which is very entertaining. Science fiction music can be heard in places like Tucson AZ and other parts around the world if it is attached to a unique new film. "Star Wars" "Battlestar Galactica" "ET" "Raiders Of The Lost Ark" "Logan's Run" "Aliens" "Jurassic Park" and "Prometheus" are a few of the films which feature outstanding sounds.
Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill were all a part of the original "Star Wars" movies. Each of them were able to go on to other projects once this film series was completed. It was very good that John Williams had agreed to compose all of these tunes for this unique adventure film.
"ET" was a film about a lonely young boy who yearned to have a special companion even though his mother and other siblings were always there for him. One night he discovered an alien living upon his property and the two of them became fast friends which was great. Once again Mr. John Williams was responsible for the main theme which was very sentimental on all levels. People who watch this film are always grateful for this particular tune.
Steven Speilberg made sure to always hire Mr. Williams for any of his future projects since he was great at his job. George Lucas fully agreed with this notion and he also made it a point to use John's service. John took his time to put together a great "Raiders Of The Lost Ark" theme which was phenomenal. After this he went on to score other film projects with very popular themes.
Back in the 70's the show "Battlestar Galactica" was a big hit with viewers everywhere within the United States. This was one series which dealt with space creatures and other ugly critters who were trying to destroy the world. During the year 2004 a man named Bear McCreary decided to arrange new tunes for the latest "Battlestar Galactica" series. This show would be very different than the one made in 1978.
"Logan's Run" dealt with young people who were put to death on their thirtieth birthday in a very weird society. Jerry Goldsmith composed the haunting theme to this futuristic film which frightened many small children. The theme has a fascinating sound which goes from silent to loud very quickly.
A scary movie named "Aliens" was directed by James Cameron back in the 80's. This particular film had all types of sounds mixed into it and this was great for the composer. A man named James Horner put together the terrific musical arrangement for this classic film. He had separate sounds for the aliens, characters and other creatures associated with this movie.
There were so many other people who enjoyed "Jurassic Park" when it was first created. Children everywhere loved the dinosaurs which were part of this movie so many years ago. Unfortunately these same youngsters came to fear these historic creatures since they were not so friendly within the film. Producers of this film took the time to once again employ John Williams for this project and they were very happy that this decision was made.
