The first step in caring for nature is using the resources available effectively without any wastes. This means the materials used in the making of paper, ink and other writing material should be used well sparingly. It is done so in order to ensure that there is sustainability in the availability of these resources. Over exploitation of these resources can cause depletion of the sources.

The use biodegradable material should also be ensured. The materials that rot when disposed of are the best. One should also ensure they recycle elements such as plastics and others. The ink can also be made from less poisonous materials such as vegetable oils and color pigments.
