Get An Area Rug Set: Ways To Re-Invent Your Home Decor

By Serena Price

Monotony can lead to depression. This is true not only for work and other aspects of life, but even for your surroundings. Sometimes, when you have lived in the same place for years, you fall into a rut and stop switching up the decor. Also, when you first move into a place, it can be hard to make it your own. Adding a new vibe or a bit of personality to a living space can be as simple as buying an area rug set. Below are some other ideas.

1. Rugs/Carpets. Rugs and carpeting can add a whole new feeling to a living room, den, or bedroom. Carpeting can be great in a house that you own and want to invest money into, but it can be expensive, and if you rent, the landlord may not allow such a significant change. In this case, rugs can be a great solution, because they are easily removable.

3. Put up artwork. Any kind of artwork, such as paintings or sculptures, can be a great addition to a home. If you are an artistic person, consider putting your own work on display. If you have loved ones who paint, draw, or sculpt, show their work in your home. If neither of these things is true, you can buy art in galleries, on the internet, or at art fairs to give your home some personality.

3. New furniture. A new chair or sofa can be fantastic addition to your home. Shop around for good deals on furniture. You can often find good sales in stores or on the internet. Thrift stores can also be good places to purchase furniture at low prices. Sometimes, you can even find furniture on the curb on bulk trash day, discarded by its owner but still in great condition. Just be careful of bedbugs!

4. Move things around. Rearrange the set-up of a room, or completely switch around the purposes of rooms. This costs absolutely nothing, and still makes things feel new. If you don't like it, you can simply switch everything back to the way it was.

5. Organize and remove clutter. As the old adage says, a cluttered room means a cluttered mind. Whether it is stuffed animals, toys, or books, clutter can be stressful. Find ways to store and organize these things, and the room will feel different and better.

6. Painting. Giving a new color to a room is a great way to make it feel different. While it is difficult to paint the whole house, and you would probably need professional help to do that, you can definitely handle smaller jobs on your own or with a little help. Painting the bathroom, for instance, or one wall of another room, can give a new vibe to the room.

These are just a few ideas for giving new life to your living space. A new paint color, an area rug set, or a piece of art can help to create a new vibe in your home. This can help you to break out of a rut, and to feel re-energized. Try a few of these suggestions, and find out whether a change is what you need.
