Some Useful Tips On Looking For A Nursery Rug For The Babies

By Susan Foster

Most of the professional decorators love to select different rugs. It is because when it talks about the design, the items which are used on floors can deliver various packing textures, patterns, and colors into a one comfortable and a soft package. But with having no idea on selecting the perfect one, for sure, you will keep on thinking about what should be the proper fabric, type, size, and pattern.

Size. The size of rugs that you will be placing in the nursery would depend on what type you prefer. The nursery rug may either be of a large size when you wish to anchor all the other furniture pieces. Or it may also be in small size which is enough for sitting off them independently. If the floors in the room are made from hardwood, it would be best to have the large one.

When choosing large sizes, see to it that you are overlapping the pieces of furniture, especially the crib, specifically the front legs, on carpet edges. You also need to make sure that all empty spaces in a room are filled in. Leave at least some few inches in between the pieces of furniture and rug edges.

If smaller rugs are preferred, these can help in highlighting some specific items and areas such as the cozy reading corner or the crib. Having this comes with one important rule, and that is to have small accent rugs that are big enough for setting the entire accent pieces or the collection of pieces. However, the actual placement may depend on your item.

There are some people who want a particular item to be focused and most probably it will be the large crib. With this, placing the rug at the center of the crib is suggested. You would also need to allow an overlapping of the front half to the carpet. Setting off some other specific areas can be done by grouping directly some necessary items on the carpet.

Balancing the necessary elements. Before a carpet will be purchased, try to consider some necessary things. There maybe some missing elements so try to determine these things. Consider the important elements like colors and patterns. Determine other various textures as well. If lacking elements are already figured out, fill the gaps in.

If your choices have large neutral palettes, choose something with some colors. And if your choice contains a lot of solids, try to break them up with the bold patterns. When you consider the texture, try focusing on creating some contrasts. So when you already have the basic low pile type, opt for a shaggy rug.

Selecting appropriate materials. Manufacturers are going to provide you with various options for the materials, but there maybe times when choosing for a choice is difficult. For this reason, you need to consider your priorities importantly. The material you will choose should be durable, washable synthetic, and strong.

Being worried on toxic residues can be eliminated by opting for organic fibers like cotton and sisal. Rugs that are made from wool would be best as well. Organic wool types usually are hardy and are cleaned easily. These materials are both water resistant and are naturally flame. And also, these contain antibacterial properties, good for people with asthma and allergies.
