How To Clean And Care Your Maple Bowls And Wooden Stuffs

Utensils are very much useful at home. We used them in cooking, serving and eating our foods. It is indeed very helpful to us, without them, it would be hard for us to cook our foods and all other favorite recipes that we have

There are utensils for kitchen and eating use. There are also different types of utensils according to the materials being used. Some are made of copper, aluminum, iron and even from wood. Wooden utensils, like maple bowls, are a bit heavier compare to aluminum but they definitely look good in your table and is one of a kind.

These types of kitchenware needed to be cleaned properly and must be maintained. Some people like to use these wooden tools because they find it very pretty to look at when displayed on their tables, while some might just be fascinated by wooden items, but whatever their reason is, we should always take care of these things and here are some ways on how to do it.

Wash it right away. As much as possible, wash the them right after you have eaten your favorite food. If you will not wash it right away, the tendency is the that food crumbs will stick hardly unto your kitchenware and you may find it difficult to remove them. If you cannot wash it right away with soap, at least pour a warm water unto it so that the food stains will be taken out to avoid sticking. When washing it, use the sponge where the smooth portion lies keep the bowl from scratches.

Do not heat. Heat is the enemy of woods. After you have finally washed your kitchenware, just let it dry in a natural air and do not put it in a dishwasher for the heat will destroy your wooden kitchen ware. Also, do not use your bowls when you are to microwave something. Use another kind of bowl, like your aluminum or ceramic bowls.

Pour in white vinegar. These kinds of kitchen tools need proper cleaning. Once they are not properly cleaned, food particles which would stay in the kitchenware might create bacteria which could not only destroy them, but would also be harmful to the person who will be using that certain bowl. Best way to clean it is to sterilize using white vinegar. Pour in a two tablespoon of vinegar and let it sit for 30 minutes. This could help kill any bacteria that has been staying at the surface of the wood.

Sand the rough area. In case you might feel that the tool have been becoming rough, especially in cases of bowls, you can make it smooth through the use of sandpaper. Run the sandpaper through the rough spot in the tool. Make sure you just rub is softly so as not to damage other parts of the utensil.

Oiling. Sometimes, because of constant use of these type of utensils, the color and its shine gets fade. In order to bring back the shine of your wooden kitchen ware, apply some oil unto it. You may apply the oil with a clean cloth or just using your fingers and then wipe it properly. Make sure you have applied the oil in the entire body so that the glossiness would get even.

Store it accordingly. The storage of these kitchenware must be in a spot where there is no great amount of sunlight that could come in. The reason for this is because the sunlight could damage your utensils. The heat of the sun can cause discoloring and dryness of the tools.
